:: dude ::
i'm finally back after a week of fun. i have to say, after spending a week in the east, i've to appreciate LA on a completely new level. i never want to leave again!

manhattan
was fun. brian came down from georgetown so the shim family was all together :). we saw 'les miserables' sat night. B+ it was good, but the seats were soo small, and i was sitting next to brian and his gigantium legs, so i had even less room. anyway, i wasnt too crazy about new york. it had WAY too many people. i was so overwhelmed; i felt like i was in a crowded elevator everywhere i went. but despite the intense claustrophopia, i still think ny is a pretty magnificant place (with some dig food). a hellova lot better than canada.

yale
so i went to yale bulldog days on monday and tuesday.
well that's unfortunate, since i'm going to the frikkin coldest place in america for college, joke. everyone there said that the weather at yale was the best it's been for a really long time. it was still bloody cold for me. anyway, it was fun. the stuff in the program was OK but afterwards the KASY people took care of us. i almost died from lack of sleep, but it was still good times. mega props to bryan hong.

canada
CANADA IS THE MOST FREAKISHLY SPOOKY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD (...it's a country, right?) oh my bejeezus, canada is so weird. so first, we went to niagara falls, which is gorgeous. but the town, OH MY GOD. it is so freaky. first of all, you're surrounded by like forest and hills, and then there's this little city. it has a bunch of vegas-like hotels, but when we drove by, they seemed empty. then, "downtown" is literally comprised of a bunch of haunted house attractions, and wax museaums (sp.?) and IMAX theater (travel through alien planet!) and costume shops and more alien wax museums and planetariums and WHAT not...it's like universal citywalk in the middle of nowhere! it was so scary. three koreans in a rented oldsmobile driving through an empty street with alien billboards and neon signs in front of haunted houses blinking "will you come out alive??" i am never going back again.
Toronto is a little bit of a different story. we stayed at a family friend's house in the city, and i went out with my friend to his house to watch a hockey game. all of the conversations had "ey?" in them, good times (MATT :)).

and now i'm home. i have elephant-sized loads of homework to do, but it can wait till tomorrow. tonight is party time!! :) happy birthday to my ABU! :) :) peace
