Quote of the day: well...quotes of the day...
(1)
"There is no happiness where there is no wisdom;
no wisdom but in submission to the gods.
big words are always punished,
and proud men in old age learn to be wise."
- last lines in Sophocles' Antigone...
(2)
"I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. what a heavy burden God has laid on men! i have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind"
- Ecclesiastes 1: 13-14
coincidence? i thinK NOtT! har x2....i just thought that that was interesting...Creon's plight resembles the pharoah's downfall in the story of Moses too, atleast IMO ("in my opinion" for those who arent down with the iris lingo.) anyway, Antigone rocks. so does ecclesiastes. read both
